My Story
I received my first Scentsy warmer as a Christmas gift in 2008! I absolutely loved my warmer and the long lasting fragrances. I hosted parties and was a loyal customer for the following 6 years! In the spring of 2014, my teaching position of 10 years was no longer recognized by the state of Illinois. My degree didn't qualify me for any other position so I had to look for a job outside of my field, which was a significant pay cut. I also made the decision to pursue my master's degree, which is an additional expense for my family. I worried about effect this would have on our lifestyle and was certain we would need to cut out travel until I returned to my career. I needed a way to supplement my income and decided to give Scentsy a shot. At the very least, I would get paid for my own Scentsy purchases.
I joined Scentsy in August of 2014. It provided my husband and me with the extra monthly income we needed. I could control how much I made and how I would work my business. I found a passion for doing Scentsy as a business and quickly realized that as much as I loved the income, I equally loved the personal growth that I was experiencing. I realized that I could do this business just being myself and that I could share what I love and help others to do the same. Joe joined me in the business and we promoted to Star Directors in September 2019. We currently have a group of over 100 people, whom all have different goals they are working to achieve!
Scentsy has not only allowed us to maintain our love for traveling, it has increased how often we travel and has allowed us to travel for FREE! Since joining Scentsy, I have earned SIX all-expenses paid trips: a cruise to Cozumel, Disney World, Punta Cana, Mediterranean Cruise, Marco Island & Bermuda Cruise! In addition, we have traveled to Las Vegas, Nashville, New York, Kansas City, New Orleans, Anaheim, Austin &Meridian, Idaho all because of Scentsy. It seems crazy to think that I once thought I would have to cut out travel completely!
While working my Scentsy business and working a full time job, I went back an obtained a Master's degree. I have been working as special education teacher for the past 2 years. Yes, my life is BUSY, however I am able to work my business around my full time job and personal life. Scentsy is my "fun time!" Working my wax business always puts a smile on my face. My commission checks have kept our lives comfortable during the 3 years that I was out of the teaching field, including 5 months of student teaching without pay! I have BIG GOALS of making our Scentsy business my full time income in the future!
